Online Portal

Online Portal is a set of web 3.0 applications, which represent an integrated front-end to all web services provided by the Public Platform. It will aggregate not only core functionality developed by the Platform Branch, but also functionality developed by other IT businesses run in our enterprise ecosystem as well as functionality developed by teams of volunteers. All web services will be open source.

A key characteristic of the Online Portal is that due to the open plug-in architecture the development of the overall functionality can be distributed over several “external” businesses. However, every functional component will be reviewed on the conformance to the general methodology and design guidelines.

Due to the wide spectrum of functionality provided by the Online Portal, we classify it using four functional perspectives: Multimedia Portal, Marketplace Portal, Enterprise Portal, and Development Portal. These perspectives are conventional and can be changed in the future.

Multimedia Portal is a start page for the user and an entry point to the informational space of the platform. It is all about communication, connections, information and mass media. This perspective can be associated with such actions as watch, search, discuss. Most significant functionality includes:

·         Dashboard or a cumulative inbox, which aggregates all interests of the user in one place.

·         Blogging and discussions platform designed for huge amounts of simultaneous participants.

·         Informational space for the network of community centers; organization of community events, crowd sourcing and crowd funding.

·         Conscious media network utilizing approaches of open source (transparency), meritocracy and mass collaboration. Open public discussions, polls and debates are run around information trends. All published materials provide access to its source. Celebrities, authors, writers and editors have open profiles in marketplace portal, so that users can rate them. These ratings are different for different users according to their preference in interest circles, which represent user’s trust to the information and influence the visibility of information.

Marketplace Portal represents a catalog or directory of anything. It is used to classify and organize similar things of any type, so that they can be compared with each other and consciously chosen by the users. This perspective can be associated with such actions as choose, compare, classify. Most significant functionality includes:

·         Products catalog with multifaceted classification and technical description. The end user can perform very detailed comparison of products, their ingredients and production specifics. It is possible to organize product reviews and open tests, provide feedback or discuss with other users.

·         Solutions catalog with ability to compose a custom solution from several composite products. Some examples: green house with all equipment, food supply, climate control system for home.

·         Transparent sourcing and procurement, logistics and delivery, etc. The complete supply chain should be traceable both by the business manager and by the end customers.

·         Directory of various organizations, manufacturers, suppliers, resellers, teams of volunteers, etc.

·         Jobs directory and vocational guidance.

Enterprise Portal integrates all internal and external processes of management and information about them across every organizational node of the Public Union. This perspective can be associated with such actions as execute, operate, organize. Most significant functionality includes:

·         Enterprise resource planning (ERP; supply chain management is done in the Marketplace Portal) and management information system (MIS).

·         Organization and collaborative management of businesses and idea actualization cycles, projects and teams, movements and missions.

·         Dashboard of all enterprise activities for both employees and volunteers.

Development Portal provides tools for web 3.0 developers for modelling objects and meta-objects of global semantic network, including businesses, ideas, or new product types for Marketplace Portal, etc. This perspective can be associated with such actions as develop, create, maintain. Most significant functionality includes:

·         Visual and textual modelling of objects. A very primitive analogue can be found in Wikipedia: users are able to create pages with some simple semantic data.

·         Possibility to design public API for various business processes and then use this API by software applications. For instance, one can develop a widget for the mobile phone, which analyzes how many calories are in the food which a customer has just ordered in a restaurant of a community center. All business and software components will follow plugin architecture.

·         Development Portal will be integrated with Eclipse for Developers. These two products might even be merged as one.
